Soybean Rust Reminders

Insurance will cover losses due to Soybean Rust as long as you correctly spray the appropriate fungicides to help control the disease. USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) expects producers to control or prevent the disease by complying with “good farming practices” specified by your local or recognized extension personnel or other local agronomy experts. If control measures are available and you choose not to apply them, insurance will not cover any losses due to Soybean Rust. If no effective control measures are available or insufficient amounts of fungicides are available for effective control, the resulting loss of production would still be covered. Additional information about Soybean Rust and crop insurance can be found on the RMA’s website at www.rma.usda.gov/news/soybeanrust
