Pest Control Methods
Insurance will cover losses due to insect damage as long as you take the appropriate measures to control it. USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) expects producers to control or prevent insect damage by complying with “good farming practices” specified by your local or recognized extension personnel or other local agronomy experts. If control measures are available and you choose not to apply them, insurance will not cover any losses due to insect damage. If no effective control measures are available or an insufficient amount of control methods are available for effective control, the resulting loss of production would still be covered.
