Loss Reminders

Jul 24, 2012

Report a suspected crop loss immediately so a claim can be filed with the insurance company and get the claim process started. Federal rules limit FCSAmerica's involvement with claims after the notice of loss is filed; however, we do monitor our customers’ claims to assure that you receive timely service.

Don’t forfeit a payment. Notify us prior to replanting any acreage. An adjuster must first contact you to give you permission and explain the guidelines for replanting. Failure to do this will result in no replant payment or future loss payment.

Large claim audit regulations require audits of your production history records for the past three years for policies with losses more than $200,000 per crop per county. APH information will need to be supported with settlement sheets, weight tickets, feed records, etc. Please be prepared to provide this information for the last three years in order to receive your indemnity payments.

For more information, contact your local Farm Credit Services of America crop insurance specialist.
