2014 Crop Insurance Deadlines

Sep 10, 2014

To get the full benefit from the risk management protection you’ve selected, it’s important to collect and submit the right information on time. Please note the following:

September: FCSAmerica offices will host small informational meetings to help customers with decisions related to commodity program participation and to share harvest crop insurance requirements. Contact your FCSAmerica office for more information.

September 30: Final date to purchase, transfer, change or cancel a policy for fall-planted crops and forage production.

October: To maintain full coverage, crops must be planted by the final fall planting date, which varies by county. Check with your FCSAmerica agent for the final date in your county. The premium billing date for spring-seeded crops is August 15; interest accrual will begin on that date and will attach beginning October 1 if not yet paid.

November: Time to report your 2014 crop production so we can help you identify any potential revenue or yield losses and submit claims on time. Government regulations require that, in most cases, a Notice of Loss be submitted no later than 15 days after the harvest of the unit.

November 15: This is the final date to purchase, transfer, change or cancel a Pasture Rangeland Forage (PRF) policy in Nebraska or South Dakota.

December 15: Final date to purchase an Annual Forage policy for annual forage planted between December 15, 2013, and July 15, 2014. Annual Forage is available for the 2014 crop year in Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Call your FCSAmerica office with concerns or questions about your insurance coverage.
